Because both is trying to take the centerline to strike Men, but after the strike, one must move aside from your opponent going off-centered from your opponent body`s centerline. Because if you don´t move aside from your opponent`s avance, you will end up colliding your opponent, and that is not the idea.
I think the key is when to turn around and trying to take the center of your opponent.
